Whole Group practice of IXL: Keeping Financial Records
Homework: Students will create their own banking account record log

Lesson: Advantages and disadvantages of payment methods
Description: Students will learn about payment methods such as credit cards, debit cards, interest and cash payments.
Homework: Students will write situations where they analyze what would be the best payment method and then ask other students to answer in tomorrow's class.

Lesson: Balancing and adjusting a budget
Description: Students will practice learning how to balance a budget.
Homework: Students will practice making a list of income and expenses in order to complete a balanced budget.

Lesson: Taxes and income
Description: Students will build on their knowledge of types of taxes, discuss gross income, and net income.
Homework: IXL 5th grade types of taxes and gross and net incomes.

 

Friday 5/8

Lesson: Review of the week’s lessons
Description: Students will answer trivia questions in small groups about taxes, income, payment methods, balancing a budget in small group teams.
Assignment: Khan Academy(30 minutes)
