ABOUT CARL VON LINNE SCHOOL

Welcome!
For over 100 years Linne School has been providing a world-class education to children in the Avondale neighborhood. As the school's philosophy evolves, it brings forth a commitment to "Educating the Whole Child". The fine arts are used to support and develop a vision of high quality academic programs that contribute to the intellectual, physical, and emotional well-being of our students. Our objective is to develop high-quality programs that:
-
Make learning more interactive;
-
Foster inter-disciplinary learning;
-
Build self-esteem; and
-
Facilitate student success despite differences in languages, financial background, race, or learning styles.

Our Mission

The mission of Carl Von Linne Elementary is to prepare students for college and career by providing a rigorous, researched-based instructional program aligned to the Common Core State Standards, with a focus on "educating the whole child".
Our History

Our school was built in 1895 and named after Swedish botanist Carl Von Linnaeus (1707-1778) known as the "father of modern taxonomy". There are a number of historical murals that adorn the school dating back to 1910. Keep checking back our site for our upcoming alumni section!
